Getting Started

The Database File Management (DBFM) functionality is accessed from the Resource Manager option while the DBFM Document Manager home page can be directly accessed from the banner menu. The Document Manager consists of the Directory Tree, Detail Pane and DBFM Pane. This section describes their function.

Entry to the DBFM

The DBFM and Workgroup functionality can be accessed via Resource Manager > File Manager then use the Document Publishing controls (below) to navigate to the required function:

Access the DBFM home page.

Create a New User Group.

Access the Groups Directory.

The DBFM Home Page

The Document Manager home page comprises the Directory Tree (top left), the Main Pane (right) and the DBFM Pane (bottom left), as illustrated below:

The Directory Tree

The Directory Tree displays the directories and roles available (dependent upon access rights). The first level directory entries comprise the roles that are used in determining File or Directory access. Right-clicking on any directory displays a Context Menu itemising the range of directory editing options. The controls associated with the Directory Tree are:

The Refresh button clears and redisplays the Directory Tree.

The Plus button at the top of the Directory Tree expands the Directory Tree. The Plus button adjacent to a directory expands that directory.

The Minus button at the top of the Directory Tree contracts the Directory Tree. The Minus button adjacent to a directory contracts that directory.

The Detail Pane

The Detail Pane displays the directories, roles and files available (dependent upon access rights). Right-clicking on any directory displays a Context Menu itemising the range of directory editing options and access to the Properties dialogue. Right-clicking on any file displays a Context Menu giving the range of file editing options and access to the Properties dialogue. The controls associated with this pane are:

The Refresh button clears and redisplays the Detail Pane.

Displays the current filepath. Clicking on a node within this filepath will contract the path to the node that has been selected.

The Search button provides the search options for locating files and directories.

The Create New Folder button creates a new directory under the current directory.

The Upload button displays the File Manager: Upload File form; enabling files to be browsed for and uploaded to the DBFM.

The DBFM Pane

When an image file is selected by right-clicking, the displayed Context Menu contains the option to Preview image. This previewed image is displayed in the DBFM Pane.
