To change the content of the newsletter, go to:
Administer > Site configuration > SunMailer > Configure SunMailer > Newsletter content
This form is split into three parts. The first is the subject line for the email containing the newsletter.
The second is the header for the newsletter. You can specify the title appearing in the header, and for subscribers receiving the newsletter in HTML, you can optionally upload an image to be used in place of the title; the title will become the image's alternate text. The header also displays today's date; you can change the format of this date or remove the date.
The last part is the content sections. The newsletter is split into multiple sections. Here you can edit or delete existing sections, or you can add a new section. Each section has several components:
- Name The name appears as the header for the section in the newsletter, unless there is only one section.
- View Select one of the views provided by the Views module as well as a display for that view (use the default display if you are unsure). SunMailer will automatically generate the content for this section by pulling it from the specified view.
- Arguments If the view requires arguments, then list them here, separated with a / as though they were a URL path. The token !uid will be substitued with the uid of the subscriber (or 0 for an anonymous user) if appropriate.
- Weight The weight is used to order the sections relative to each other.
When creating a new section, different options are available for subscribing existing subscribers to this new section.
By default, SunMailer generates the newsletter content once, using the perspective of an anonymous user. If the content varies for each subscriber, then a checkbox exists to generate the content individually for each subscriber. Note that this checkbox will not appear if SunMailer is not set to send an individual email to each newsletter.
